| Trelales Primary School -is situated in the village of Laleston some two miles west of Bridgend town centre. The School comprises at present 4 main buildings. In the main part of the School are housed 3 junior classes together with the School library. The Corridor Area of the Main Building has been transformed to provide a Workshop Area for our pupils to enjoy a variety of Curriculum Studies. These include Technology, Science, Geography, History, Mathematics and a Purpose-built Computer Area. Adjoining our main Building is the School Hall. This is a multi purpose building, being used for Morning Assemblies, Physical Education, Music and Drama, as a Dining Centre and as a place where various meetings and functions are held. The 3 Infant classes and Year 3 are housed in our school extension which is attached to the main body of the School. The terrapin has recently been refurbished and houses a very successful and popular Nursery Unit.>> | This is a wonderful acquisition for our school and replaces the old H.O.R.S.A. building which existed for over 50 years. Both Buildings are accessed through a bright, comfortable Reception Area. The last building is the Terrapin which has recently been developed to include toilet facilities and an outdoor play area. The School has a large playground area which is utilised to its full advantage by our children. During the Summer Months there is a grassed area on which the children are allowed to play. An exciting development adjacent to the grassed area is our Nature Area. At present there are various plants and shrubs, a meadow grass area and paths for easy access to all areas. Future plans include the development of pond area, butterfly garden, bird tables, benches and a picnic table. All classes are able to use the Nature Area for their various Scientific Studies. >> |
